During the 23rd World Congress of Dermatology in Vancouver, Canada in June 2015, Botanee Group was the only Chinese company invited to the exhibition.In June 2019, Botanee was invited to the 24th World Congress of Dermatology in Milan, Italy. Botanee Research Institute is located in Qingpu District, Shanghai, with a total area of more than 5,000 m2. The R&D team covers many disciplines such as pharmaceutical preparations, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmacy, high polymer chemistry, biology and fine chemical engineering.Botanee Research Institute independently develops plant actives with clear efficacy and controllable quality by combining the pathogenesis mechanism of problematic skin and exploring characteristic plant resources in Yunnan. At the same time, it screens raw materials worldwide, designs formulations and processes using pharmaceutics theory, passes rigorous in vivo/in vitro safety/efficacy screening, human sensory and human efficacy evaluation, organizes product filing and obtains relevant approval after confirming preparation parameters for pilot production. After the products finally pass clinical validation, Botanee Research Institute organizes production and sales. Yunnan Characteristic Plant Extraction Laboratory has established a systematic screening and evaluation system for active substances derived from Yunnan characteristic plants, and realized commercial production of those plants.
Guided by national strategies and major scientific and technological innovation needs of Yunnan, the laboratory focuses on Yunnan characteristic plant industry, gathers superior resources inside and outside Yunnan, aims at the international frontier, drives sustainable and high-end development of the industry through R&D of cutting-edge and forward-looking technologies, establishes a new mechanism for rational distribution of revenue from transformation of scientific research achievements, and builds a whole chain of high-tech innovative business: "basic theoretical research-application and development-key generic technology development for industrialization-industrial incubation-marketing".
In November 2022, Yunnan Characteristic Plant Extraction Laboratory became the 37th "Co-certification Laboratory on National Reference Materials for Natural Products" in China granted by the Specialistic Group on Natural Product of National Technical Committee on Reference Materials.
